A new slate of state legislation that either has become law, or is one step away from doing so, could directly impact Crossroads farmers and ranchers, according to local experts. This fall, Texas voters will decide whether current "right to farm" laws will be amended in the constitution, and whether the state can spend the $1.5 billion legislators have set aside for improving internet access in rural communities. The day of the election is Nov. 7, and early voting runs from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3. The popular vote on the amendments was approved by the Texas House and Senate.
